Anyone know a good place to get a Berkshire pork shoulder?

I think there is a Wegman's in Manhattan. A little far from me and with all the riots, not looking to take a trip. I'm wondering if I can order it from somewhere for a decent price.

Hey John, if your local supermarket butcher can't procure one (did you ask?) and if you want
to go online then this place has the Kurobuta (Berkshire) You get what you pay for ...

Hey thank you! That looks like a great place to buy. I see that its bone-in too, nice! I'm gonna get one on the next roast. As to your question, I'm always hesitant to ask the butchers for specialty stuff. For some reason I just feel like it's an unlabeled mystery of what they tell you and what they actually give you for the price, ending up with a plastic wrapped piece of something that came from somewhere. My last experiences weren't that good, that's all.

Just out of curiosity, i was looking on the website, why are the berkshire shoulders flat?

I'm in Long Island. Anyone know of any places?
Not sure where in LI, but Snake River (online) has great berkshire pork of all cuts. They produce a great product. Good luck ?? Post picks after the cook

I have raised quite a few pigs. Berks were always my favorite to eat, but the worst growing breed I ever had.

Durocs were a close second in taste, but they always grew like crazy.

I know around here that Durocs are much easier to get your hands on for that reason alone.

Last year I was close to getting a whole leg (Berkshire) and making/curing my own prosciutto at home. After all the research and time to cure in a cool environment and my wife telling me we don't need 20 lbs of prosciutto, I bagged the idea. Still in the back of my mind. ??
