There are some PC programs that allow you to run Android apps on the PC. Its been awhile but I used BlueStacks to do just that. There are other Android emulators out there. May that would work for you.
On the bright side....
These grills are reasonably well built, and not complex technology. When the bugs are worked out of your grill, many cooks over many years await you.
But right now, so what? Money spent for not much in return. Stay on them until you get it right and please update us.

An analog vs. digital control is like a light with a dimmer vs. a normal type of snap switch.
More precise control. Both still light the room. I enjoy the phone app. Analog control via software is a bunch of on off switching to maintain the desired output.

I wrapped once. I don't care for falling off the bone on my ribs. I usually run ribs for 5 hours or so (225). Rub before start ...... then eat when finished. Sauce maybe...maybe not.

Agreed! I have gotten into the habit of turning the set point to 170* before I stop the grill to have the low setting at start next time.
I also turn set point to 170 when I have the top open to avoid over heating after closure.
In my past life I wrote control code for a major manufacturer. The PID is a type of loop control. It uses inputs, outputs, and setpoints to produce a mechanical result.
P.I.D. is the controller's controlling characteristics. Too fast it overshoots, too slow it droops or undershoots.
