Sorry to hear of your issues and its totally unacceptable. My 1100 was easy to assemble and has been performing flawlessly for the last 6 months since purchase. The one thing I am not happy about is the fact that the company does absolutely nothing to increase bandwidth on their server so that...
I think you just wanted to make us all jealous by showing off your awesome outdoor cooking space but putting that aside, I prefer the looks of the horns turned in and have no issue with heat on my Flagship 1100. Besides Toro The Bull (as mentioned by a member), turned in horns are anatomically...
Ive been buying BM pellets at Academy Sporting goods store for about 6 months and the normal price is $9.99 regardless of wood type - I know this retail chain is not as prolific as some others but I am fortunate to have one near by. I really like the fact that I have very little ash at the end...
I think the one thing that Recteq sucks at is the Apps notification on busy weekends - you will not get any notifications about your grill getting to temp, prob temps hitting or exceeding your target temps because on busy weekends they dont have enough server bandwidth. They will tell you that...
I also purchased a flagship 6 months ago - the shelf was damaged on shipment and one call and Recteq took care of it right away. The staff has always been very responsive to my questions. I have been extremely happy with my purchase and the performance of the 1100. Folks are currently unhappy...
As Jim6820 has stated try a different brand and type of pellet. Also, you can increase smoke flavor by reducing the temp down to 200-220 range for the first couple of hours (lower temp = more smoke) then bump up the temp - though this will extend the cook time a bit. I switch wood pellet...
What a pain - I was hoping to use my third party device as a backup - now I need a backup for my backup. Calling Recteq, this is not rocket science - get more bandwidth and spend a few bucks fixing the alarm issues.
Thank you SmokeZilla; So if I understand correctly, there is no setting in the App that I have to activate and set the upper and lower alarm limits as its done automatically (just be mindful of the alarm tone selected). It must have been my third party thermometer set that I had used...
I recently purchased a flagship 1100 and have done 7 or 8 smokes in the past 2 months or so. Im not sure but I seem to remember you could set some form of alarm notification should the pit temp change significantly from your desired target temps (which was great for getting a bit of peace of...
SmokeZilla, Thats a bunch of great tips - I have only injected a couple of times but always with the grain. I’m looking forward to trying your method. With boiling point of around 196 at those altitudes, I will have to keep a close eye on the internal temps. Maybe play a bit with the mix of...
The video was very helpful - I think besides all the tips from the Recteq community and the video, I need to remind myself that it will be a new learning experience and may need to do one trial run first and adjust for the real cook. Thanks for the link.
Thank SmokeZilla, I think the key as you mentioned is the water tray and injecting the protein. I have never had to do it with a Brisket before but I think I need to experiment with it. Would you broth or tallow? I had never thought/heard about the wood chip trick in the water pan but will...
I was wondering if there anyone in the Recteq family that has consistently made a whole packer brisket on a pellet grill at altitudes of say 7,000 or 8,000 ft. and would be open to share their method and how to prevent it from drying ot or tasting like pot roast (temps, approx duration of cook...
Greg, clearly it has not changed. SPAM has a shelf life of 2000 years, maybe more. So they made tons of it during the first year of production back in the late 30’s and still selling from that batch today - thats why it looks, feels, and tastes the same today LOL :)
When you were searching for the alarm settings were the probes connected to the controller? I believe the probes must be connected to the controller before you get the option to set alarms on the App.
