My bull was cleaned and polished after every use and we regularly bbq on all weekends. I can only attribute the rust to Poor manufacturing of the powder coated parts and low grade stainless used for the barrel of the bull. I added the factory bull drop down shelf a year after the original...
I keep my Rt700 under a covered porch patio, no cover is used on the grill. Any cover would have to breath very well due to the humidity in south Florida.
Correction: The purchase date of the RT700 was August 2020. The pictures of the rust shown were taken 2 years and 3 months after the original purchase.
Part 2-Cosmetics, paint peeling and rust
During reassembly every effort was used to ensure dissimilar metal corrosion was prevented by utilising insulating tape between metal surfaces, Fiber washers were used on all screw heads and nuts.

Cosmetics, paint peeling and rust. I purchased the recteq 700 in Aug 2000 after extensive research. Other than cooking performance, which we are very pleased with, I was also concerned with rust prevention due to our home location of Miami Fl. Late last summer, September 2022, I noticed...
This is a post I made 2 years ago. All the upgrades are still in place and working. We use our Bull every week and the sealed smoke chamber works great. There are other upgrades that might interest you, bigger wheels, upgraded auger, removable power cord, front table. All can be found on the...

I’ve had an RT 700 for two years. The unit came with rectec pellets. I was initially disappointed with the lack of smoke flavor in my cooks. I began using other brands of pellets to increase the smoke flavor and have been very successful with the Bear Mountain brand. I have used 100% hickory...
I have had my RT700 for a year and a half and was surprised to see rust a month after the purchase. I keep my grill on a pool patio in Miami and the moisture plus chlorine Vapor rusts everything. I use Noxon metal polish (available on Amazon) for removing the rust and general polishing. The...
I agree with the 10 min cool down and eliminate the 45 sec auger run to prime the burner for the next light. I live in a high humidity location and have noticed hard starts after a few weeks of not using my 700. I have also found a large amount of solidified ash in the burner that interrupts the...
Though the Rt700 is made of a lot of stainless steel parts you will need to maintain the stainless steel or rust will appear. Try using a stainless polish/ sealer on your grill. I use “Noxon 7metal polish” (Amazon carries it) to clean the stainless and “Corrosion Block” to maintain a long...
