Well everyone. I went to take pictures today and it looks like the lid stays up 90 degrees and it's not as loose anymore. Guess it's time to think about what is good to make this weekend!
I now understand I need to post pictures. It's raining in SoCal so I will do it tomorrow. I appreciate everyone's response and hopefully the anticipation won't drive you mad!

Have had the Bullseye for over a year and so far it's been serviceable as a smoker/ main grille.
My problem is with the lid/hinge it seems as if the holes for the screws are too big and only 4/6 actually stay screwed. Every time I open the lid the left bottom screw and the right bottom...

Just ordered the original bullseye and wasn't aware they were creating a newer model. I've realized that when I go to grill now I have nowhere to put my tongs, meat plate and most important beer. What are you all using to help remedy this situation.
Just as a follow up I've been seasoning my griddle for the last 3 hours and it's held pretty steady at 200 and now 400 I think I just needed to get used to everything. Now, how do I get rid of the smoke induced tarnish?
This was happening on my burn in cook. I'll be seasoning my circular griddle today at 200 so I'll be on the lookout for anymore fluctuations. This was really good advice thanks!

After months of deliberation I finally purchased the Bullseye. I am using Recteq Pellets and I'm dealing with wild fluctuation on my grill. Setting it for 450 just to see if it can hold a temperature and it's been all over the place for the last hour from 259 to 700 back to 450...
