Finishing wings in an Air Fryer

I know this wasn’t solicited but here’s how I do it on my recteq. They come out crispy. Dry off wings Season with an equal mixture of your favorite seasoning, Franks Red Hot Powder, baking powder (not baking soda) Smoke at 180 for 1 hour Flip wings and smoke at 325, 25 minutes Flip wings...

    Leave Sear Kit in?

Soak in baking soda and water. Changes the pH and it will come off pretty easy after a good soak.

    Costco Pork Butt Rant.

I do this too. Better bark per bite ratio and cooks faster too. Good on ya.

    Tripping GFCI….

I had a GFI go out this year in my garage. Lost a freezer full of food from it. It ended up being a $15 fix, just replaced the outlet receptacle.

    Turkey Recipes Help

Google how to spatchcock the turkey. Laying it flat that way gives a really nice even cook in your smoker. It will all be even color. Rub the skin with butter or oil and then your favorite rub. Lay it either on the rack, I like it oiled so it lifts easily, or put it on a flat rack on a flat...

    New Bullseye Owner Not Heating!

With all this rain I get moisture issues here in AR with my bullseye and it leads to the same error. I know yours is brand new, but I keep a low level of pellets in mine and vacuum out the pellets when this happens. In my case it is pellets that have gotten soft in the augur tube between the...

Grill Grates vs Blackstone V. WTF BBQ?

I have GG on my 700 across the deck, 3 up 3 down. (It really needs 1 more) Then I bought a 380 and put some on there. I use the 380 to sear steaks now. It heats up in 15 minutes vs 45 on the 700. I use it 99:1 times vs the 700. Don’t tell my wife tho.

Most frequently cooked on the Recteq?

I started keeping a list of all the things I cooked on my Bull, not necessarily the most often but just all the types of things for when people asked me about my smoker. For what it’s worth, here’s that list: Pizza Deep dish pizza Corn Jalapeño poppers Burgers Steaks Salt block shrimp...

    Excessive smoke on bullseye

I love my 380 but I also have lots of smoke at temperatures like 400° where my 700 would be just pure heat. I can’t remember if my screwed around with my feed rate when I first got mine. But I think I did. Can one of y’all tell me what your feed rates are? I’m here in Arkansas and it’s in the...

Need help before I toss my grill

Do what you are doing but run it all the way to 203 degrees. You cooked a pork chop here not pulled pork. You have a great system and a great plan, you just need to let it run several hours longer. When it is done the shoulder plate will pull out very easily, and your neighbors dog will be...

    Where’s the smoke ring?

Here’s my recipe. This is for a full packer starting out about 18 lbs before trimming. Trim brisket to 1/4” fat Make SPGC rub from 1/2 cup salt, 1/2 cup pepper, 2 T garlic powder, 1/2 cup coffee Rub brisket both sides Get smoker to 180 Add a water pan to smoker Put brisket on at 10 pm. Add...

    Debating 590 vs 700

Realistically, you need the 590. But you’re always gonna want the 700. I have a 700 and then a year ago bought the 380. A little itty-bitty 380. Do you know what I cook on 99 cooks out of 100? The 380. It doesn’t take 45 minutes to heat up. It cooks beautifully. I’d go with the 590 here.

    Exploding 700????

This happens to me either when I run out of pellets, or I have wet pellets that solidify and plug the hole. I just get in there and clean out the pilot hole and relight it. That fixes it.
