Looking for a solid griddle for my Bull.

I'm looking for some help/advice on getting a large solid cast iron griddle to cook hash browns, eggs, stir fried veggies, true smash burgers, etc on. I really like my sear grates but I want something without holes in it.

The easy answer is Rec Tec's griddle, but as much as I love my grill the reviews of thier griddle are pretty horrible. It seems folks have a ton of warping problems, etc.

Anyone with direct experience with Rec Tec's griddle mind sharing what they think?

Also, I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who may have bought an aftermarket griddle from somewhere else and what they think of it.

Appreciate any and all comments!

Rec Tec griddle is very heavy, not sure how it could warp. Have only used mine for walleye fillets so far. Worked good, but takes a long time to get hot.

I have the grill grates griddle. I use it for sautéed mushrooms and onions. I only got one - you might look at two. It’s small. I haven’t tried smash burgers yet but will.

Mine warped pretty bad. In fairness it got unevenly heated one time, but after that it was ruined forever.

Here is a good sized one (28 x 14) with great reviews.

OK...seasoned the RecTec griddle all day, per instructions. Very happy with the seasoning. Took most of the day, but it did get shiny black like they said it would. Perfect. That is until I put food on it. Did not change the temp at all after initial 200 degree 2 hrs. 400 degrees afterwards. I put smash burgers on it and when I opened the it to flip, it had warped like crazy. Now it's cooling off and starting to flatten a little, but being flat when it's cold isn't doing me any good. Any thoughts?

Return it. I’m sure they will make good on it. ??

Call RecTec and I'm sure they will take care of you but there's other options out there that are better.

I looked for a cast iron griddle similar in size. Closest I could find is made by Camp Chef at 16 x 24. I have a smaller cast iron griddle and love it. Was hoping to find one closer but it may have to do. I may call Rec Tec, although I really don't blame them for this. An outsourced product I'm sure they don't have any control over.

Call RecTec you may be pleasantly surprised

Sorry to hear that. I suppose it could happen occasionally.
I don't mean to disagree with you but it seems like Rec Tec griddles warp way more than occasionally just from the couple of instances shared here in this thread. Not to mention other peoples situations on the internet. This is exactly why I decided to go another direction. I love Rec Tec and their products for the most part. But, I'll pass on their griddle.

@Master Blaster - I was an early adopter of the RT griddle accessory - https://www.rectecforum.com/threads/new-rt-product-flat-top-griddle.460/

As told in the above thread link, both the 1st griddle and replacement still warp when used. Having a "do over" I wouldn't spend the money on the product and go the route of a separate griddle unit like a Camp Chef, Blackstone, etc..This however does pose a challenge if you are space limited..

Now, I have heard good results from bullseye and matador owners who have the circular griddle.....

If a second one were to warp, I will get a cast iron one from Yoder I think. Just found one that's 19.75 x 15.5. Not as wide as I'd like but should work just fine. I may get it anyway.
