I'd like to make a 12" x 28" wood shelf for my new rectec 590 with compitition cart . I see that the aluminum shelf that rectec sells is 10". Is 12" to wide for the compitition cart. Looking at pics of the 10" shelf in the down position, doesn't seem like there is any room for anything wider...

Ordered my RT590 Fri. morning and delivery scheduled for Wed. tomorrow.

I read where one person took their left over grate and used it to make a bottom shelf in the compitition cart. Another person cut a board big enough to make a rolling table out of the legs and grate.

I was thinking of finding a retractable cord to mount on the cart and pull the plug out to plug. Problem I'm having is finding a retractable reel with the male end that retracts.
