    Tritip suggestions

Good to know, I’ll have to try it again. Thought I cut against the grain properly and pretty sure it wasn’t overcooked (see picture above). Definitely still was eaten almost immediately so can’t be too mad! Thanks for the tips!

    Tritip suggestions

Sounds delicious! I decided to start it off simple so just did equal parts salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Smoked at 225 until IT 130, pulled and put it on the bullseye to sear. Let it rest for about 15 mins and then sliced it up against the grain. The flavor was great but it was bit tougher...

Searing it off on the bullseye, then resting for a bit.

    Tritip suggestions

I’m in MN, I was surprised when I saw it at the butcher, haven’t seen many options for cuts lately so grabbed it up as soon as I saw it.

    Tritip suggestions

Finally got my hands on a tritip! Was hoping to smoke it tonight but not sure how to handle it yet so gotta do some research. Anyone have any suggestions? I’m going for a med rare with a reverse sear most likely.

    That doesn't look right

Don’t have any other tools for removing the screws, unfortunately. Not sure if I’d know how to do it either ... google here we come!

    That doesn't look right

Not super knowledgeable about this kind of thing. What is the pem nut? I do have a dremel, I thought I may try that tomorrow with the stripped screw, it’s just unfortunately the corner screw that is a tight fit to begin with so not sure I’ll be able to get it in there. One of the sheared...

    That doesn't look right

Bummer! I just got mine today too and started putting it together and sheared off two screws on one of the wheeled legs and stripped one on the other. So frustrating... ? Found the yellow bag with self tapping screws but no instructions saying to use that instead of the regular screws in the...

    quick review

These are skinless, so don’t think there would be a concern for rubbery texture. Unless it kind of forms one on its own. Thinking I’ll just throw them on with a rub and see what happens.

    quick review

Curious, for the chicken breasts did you do a brine of any sort? Or just throw them on with a rub? I’ve had my 590 for a lil over a month and haven’t done chicken yet and I have a couple breasts that need to get used so was thinking tonight would be good as time as any. I know a wet brine would...

    Steak fajitas tonight

Had a half of a flank steak leftover from another recipe so decided to throw together some fajitas tonight. Reverse seared steak with peppers and onions in a cast iron on the grill. Loving this grill.

Last minute smash burgers tonight with the sear grates were amazing! Forgot to get a picture of the gussied up burger with the fixins but got a snap of a couple left over burgers.

Newbie in MN - grinding noise?

In case any one was curious, after playing phone tag with CS, finally went through diagnostics. They’re sending out a new auger motor, here’s hoping it fixes things! In the mean time, got some St. Louis ribs ready to go tomorrow!

Newbie in MN - grinding noise?

I was hoping this noise isn’t normal. It’s definitely louder than the fan. Do you have the RT590 as well? Hoping to look into it more into the noise tonight. Thanks for the reply!
