Good looking ribs! I did my third meatloaf yesterday and it turned out great! I loosely followed this recipe adding some extra cheese. I went 225 for an hour and bumped it up to 325 to finish.
Here's a photo from my first, the subsequent two were pretty much identical.
I don't know about normal, but not uncommon per posts on this forum. I am of the mind there doesn't need to be any sealing of either part, but that's just my opinion. I was just letting the fella know, yes, RT does seal the barrel and hopper.
Still experimenting with different prep styles. Today I seasoned them about 3 hours prior to putting them on.
3 racks, 1 with Frag Out Freedom Spice, 1 with Frag Out Purple Heart, and 1 with my old favorite Meat Church Honey Hog.
225 for 2 hours meat up, 300 for 30 mins meat down then...
On my old grill, I bought the liners and found they just caused grease to pool up and not drain. When I got my Bull, I tried foil and found no matter how much I tried to smooth it out, I still had pools of grease. I'm a scrapper now and use a 5" metal putty knife. The tray comes clean in just a...
You made the right choice! I came from the Traeger world and wish I would've converted sooner! As others said, covers are an add-on item. With the pandemic thing happening and grills/accessories flying off the shelf, I'd say you'd have to call to find out when they'll be back in stock.
Welcome...
Congrats on your choice, I went with an RT-700 too. I had a Traeger Century 22 from Costco for 7-8 years. I finally got frustrated with the flameouts (I'm slow on the uptake) and decided to shop for a new grill. A good friend of mine is a GMG dealer and former Rec Tec owner (he had to sell his...
All of my outdoor furniture have covers from The Coverstore. They do have grill covers, just none specifically for the Bull or any RecTec grills. I was tempted to hang on to the cover I bought from them for my old Traeger when I sold it, but I figured it would be too small with the hopper in the...
For some reason, I've never made wings. That changed tonight and they turned out decent, not as crispy as I would've liked. Anyway dusted them with Meat Church All Purpose Rub and put them back in the frig for an hour. Fired up the Bull to 225 and put them on for 45 mins. Cranked it up to 425...
When I got my RT700 delivered yesterday, The UPS Freight delivery guy was concerned because of a huge gash across the front of the box. He hung out until I opened it up and verified everything was okay. Dude was very patient and professional. He mentioned he's delivered a lot of Rec Tec grills...
I know Gustine!!! I grew up in Denair and stayed in the area. It will be worth the wait, believe me! Mine took 10 days from the mothership to my driveway.
Been lurking for about two weeks after deciding to order the RT700. Not new to pellet grills, had a Traeger for the better part of 7 years. I finally got fed up with the flameouts when I was cooking low. Tried everything to correct the issue and decided to jump up to the big dogs! The Bull...
