Seriously?! I think it's robbery. I've had this grill since 2016, and I've replaced everything on it a few times. Parts were covered under warranty, so I think the grill has been good. The ignitor went out last week, and I was thinking of replacing it with a rt1250... next time it breaks...

I totally understand. I have a kamado joe classic 2, and the rt680. They both have things that they do well, and not as much. The kamado joe is too small for a brisket, and rec tec does great for a brisket.. pork butt on either, but I use a flame boss 500 for the kamado joe. Chicken...

I'd buy the cover. I have one for my 680, and it covers well, not a universal 20 dollar piece of crap. It is a pain to get off and on, but that's because it fits. Chris

Well, I always cook pork butt at 250. If you want more smoke, use the smoke tube.... works good for me. I cook unwrapped till it gets a mahogany color, then wrap in foil with pineapple juice. Use thermometer probe to check for done... usually is around 200... ribs are similar usually 5...

I have a 680 and did a brisket for superbowl.. 235 until 170 degrees and put in a foil pan with beef broth until 202.. came out awesome! I had issues with my grill taking for ever to get to temp, or get above 300... talked to rec tec last week and got the parts shipped and installed Saturday...
