I was thinking about buy a cover for my BFG. But from research it seems like it's better to let them breath. So I decided to build a little awning to keep it a little out of the elements. Overall it cost about the same as the cover from Recteq but IMO this tuned out much better.

If anyone is interested I can put together a cut list and more detail pictures

Looks great and the BFG is just gorgeous... is that a blanket with the American Flag?

@sdynak I believe that is a vinyl skin on the lid. Check them out HERE. I bought a couple as gifts and they look great. Good guy to deal with.

It is a wrap. I didn't know you couldn't get over 400deg so it got a little over heated and I had to pull it off. Had some trouble getting it off and it peeled some paint with it. I might put another post together of my repair I did (with help from rec tec support)

Great looking set-up. Nice touch with the fan!(y)

That looks great! I got the BFG cover just in time to combat this S.C. pollen. It fits better/easier than the 700 covers do, but if you're covered you aren't cooking so I took it back off since the pollen has finally slowed down.

I bought a cover but found it to be in the way when I wanted to remotely start my grill and remembered it was on. I love the awning.
