- Grill Location: Hot Springs Village, AR.; 34 37 60.0N 92 54 55.4W - late Monday afternoon, very sunny skies, a great mid Fall breezy Monday - first grill in almost a month, recovering from some pretty major surgery, finally getting back to near normal…..
- Weather at time of Grill: Temp 79F, Humidity 29% - days don’t get much better than this!
- Total Grill Time: 35 Min
- Total Event Time: ~1 Hr, 10 Min Includes filet rub & pre grill cleaning (hadn’t cleaned out the grill since surgery - she needed some attention...)
- Grill Plates: Yes x1 (positioned on right side of RT-340)
- Temp Probes: Yes x2 (one per steak)
- Pellets Used: Rec Tec Ultimate Blend
- Meat & Meat Prep
- Meat: 2 x Small Filet Mignon Steaks (1 ea. ~5 oz, & 1 ea. ~6 oz)
- Total Meat Prep Time: ~20 min, Reqtec Ben’s Heffer Dust + some S&P & rest at room tempt before being placed on the grill
- Meat on at 17:34 CDT, at ~70 F
- Sides:
- Roasted Blushing Belle (New) Potatoes, Onions, and Asparagus - oven - seasoned with S&P& Olive Oil. NOTE: we overcooked the Asparagus, they were "almost" chippy/crispy.....<grin>
- Grill Start to Target Temp 450F: 81 to 450 F ~24 min (17:10 - 17:34)
- On the grill ~17:36
- Filet Temps: Deb: ~125 F Med Rare Steve: ~155 F Med Well - perfect for us.
- Nice to be feeling good enough to enjoy this nice fall weather and grill - I’ve missed my Trailblazer!
