I got my grill today and I have to say I love the design and build of this smoker ! I did the burn in @400 for an hour and let the smoker cool back down to ambient. I wanted to familiarize myself with the works and functionality. I put the temp on low and let it run for an hour an a half. The actual temp never dropped below 230. I turned it off let it cool to ambient again and set it to 200, I had the same issue again. No wind and the outdoor temp is ~85. Am I doing something wrong ?

I think the key is to reduce the minimum feed rate. I have mine set to 4.0 but I think you can go as low as 3.5 and still avoid flame-outs.

Kirk what is the lowest temp you can get at 4.0 ?

haven't tried that but I was easily able to maintain 225 when the ambient temp was around 80 deg.
