Is it normal to have pellets in the bottom of the hopper, where the fan is? Some of the pellets appear to be burnt.

I don't look under there so don't know. I would get RT customer service on the phone asap and troubleshoot. May be nothing or a fire hazard.

Actually got it figured out. When I got the grill the fan wasn’t working. So with my desire to find out what was wrong, I took out the fire pot (full of pellets). When I took it out some of the pellets fell into the chamber that holds the fire pot. Apparently, when I moved the grill the pellets that were in the chamber fell out to the bottom of the grate, where the fan is.
