Bull RT 700 power cord

Not going to get into whether this particular mod is desirable or not, that's up to each owner. But on the notion of a manufacturer "voiding" a warrantee because of a "minor" modification, that can't happen as it is prohibited by Federal Law. As a simple example, Toyota cannot fail to honor any part of the vehicle warrantee (e.g. engine failure) they offer if you were to install a set of custom wheels for instance. Now, if you make a claim for failed wheel bearings within the terms of the warrantee, that portion of the warrantee may end up in dispute since it could be related to the owner modifications.

Well the reason I was mentioning it was because in the case of the above mod you are altering the electrical wiring....and since this whole thing runs on electric to run if something were to happen electrically or such it could be possible to have it denied because of the alteration. Again I dont think it would happen because really they wouldn't know of the mod when they are trying to diag the problem but there is a possibility.

I don’t want the hassle of plugging and unplugging; mine stays plugged in 100%. HOWEVER

1). If you can turn it on via your phone via WiFi so can a hacker

2). Lightning or other surge could take it out

I installed a simple toggle switch which allows me to leave it plugged in but truly OFF.

I saw a post on Facebook where one guy mounted two marine cleats (the kind on boats) on each end of the shelf on a RT-700 and coiled up his cord on them. It looked sharp.
I bet it looked really nice

I think @Crysis has a very elegant fix. It has inspired me to one not quite as elegant but easier and practical. Cut the cord about 6" - 12" and attach a male plug. Then just plug or unplug into an extension cord. Same result as @Crysis fix but less "drilling and fitting".

@Hilbe makes 3D printed cord management pieces that are magnetic. I just wrap my cord around that with it stuck to the underside of the control box. NOt had an issue since. Might be worth a look for those not trying to make any major mods. He also has some other good stuff on there like stack covers, drip bucket spout plugs, etc.

Thank you for the plug. Pun intended.

I never took the tie off the power cable that shipped with the RT. I just connect the extension cord when I'm using it.

I keep a dedicated extension cord connected the power cord all the time. I just wrap both around the tray when done. Looks like crap, but it doesn't bother me. I also dont store the bull where I use it. So I just wrap an roll....
