I want to thank you guys for the ideas and help with coming up with this shelf for my 590. I used a stair tred like mentioned on a previous post and used the folding shelf brackets. Just wanted to share how I was able to place my picture on the shelf. If you are an Amazon prime member you can use Amazon photos and order picture prints delivered. Once I stained to wood, I used Mod Podge glue to glue and seal picture on wood. It goes on top and dries clear (I YouTube how to use it). Then after a couple of days, I used this stuff called Amazing clear cast epoxy that worked awesome (also youtubed how to use). Haven't tested how heat resistant it is but feels like it will last a long time. I was able to have my 1st cook on it last night, made some baby backs and Dino ribs, both came out bomb! Love how well it controlled the temp! Thanks again y'all for your post sharing how you made the shelf

Looks nice. I would be a little skeptical about setting anything hot on there though ?

Any updates on if there is a big heat transfer from grill to shelf? I want to do this to my 340.

So the shelf did good with the heat from the grill but I had it open in direct sunlight, with 102 degree day, and on parts where the picture is it began to bubble up. It doesn't look as neat as it did but it still works for me. I would look into a different product, i know there are stronger epoxies out there. On the bright side, I cooked a 22lbs brisket this weekend ?

I wonder if there is anyplace that makes custom cutting boards made to the exact size! Wonder how they would do in the sun and with the heat!
