I'm currently using the Rec Tec blend pellets, which I'm enjoying very much. Just wondering if anyone here can recommend a different brand and or wood specific variety? I'm down to a partial hopper and a few bags left, thought I'd try something new. I want to stay ahead of the curve so I don't run out. Thanks!

As many have said, Lumberjack mades a quality pellet. They have a many varieties but getting them is sometimes tough depending on where you live. Also tend to be a bit higher in cost. Those and the rec tec are the ones i use. ??

Thanks, I appreciate it. I'm sure this question has been asked and repeated many, many times alright. Being relatively new to the pellet game, numerous different brands and everyone's personal favorites.........who can decide? :D

Yeah, there is such little difference between wood types. There is a difference between brands and heat/ash produced ?? .

Good to know, definitely want to go with the best pellets I can find. I don't mind paying for quality products and materials when it comes to my BBQing........hence getting my Bull!

I've been using Lumber Jack and Cooking Pellets with great results. They both seem to burn similarly to the RT pellets.
Never tried cooking pellets, who seems them? ??

If I buy 4 bags @ cookinpellets for $88, shipping is another $134.80, or $55.70 a bag total. $40 from Amazon with free shipping doesn't look too bad from my house in MA.

Got Lumber Jack locally for $11 for 20 lbs. yesterday.

Yeah, Amazon is more, but with Prime shipping, it ends up a few dollars less than cooking Pellets on-line. Dicks has LJ pellets for $14.99 a 20lb bag. I'm going to try out a couple of different varieties. That's the cheapest good variety I have found locally.

I mostly stick with Cookin Pellets, because I can get them pretty cheap ($23 for 40lb bag) and have found they work very well.

I was just told about BBQr’s Delight pellets which are supposed to be very consistent and super low ash. I can’t say for sure since I’ve not used them yet but i think I’m going to order a few bags and give them a try.

Whereabouts in MA, if you don't mind me asking? So far the only local source I found for LJ pellets in SE Mass is Dick's Sporting Goods. And I wind up having them ship instead of buying in-store anyway.

Located a LJ dealer 20 mins from me, pecan and apple in stock. $11.99 for 20lb bags.

Gonna look into Cookin pellets too.
Cookin Pellets - Check this, freight included, not on pallet. Can mix and match.

I'm in Southwick, got it at Westfield Feed, they had Bear Mtn and Lumber Jack. I took the rest of the LJ Combo so all they had left in LJ was apple.

I like 100% all wood 1 flavor Lumberjack's...they seem to burn and taste better than cooking pellets and RecTec IMO*...I just order some BearMtn brand for the hell of it and I'll give a review after I use them. Camp chef were ok, can't remember others I've tried but Lumberjack's have been the most consistent so far for me.

I used to use BBQ delight and had good luck with them and liked the smoke they provided. I have since switched to Lumberjack and have to say they are a bit better. I have a rural king close by so it’s convenient

Good to know. Thanks!
