I just did chicken thighs tonight (bone in/with skin). Felt so wrong to put them down a cold grill. 0 - 400 for 60 min. Finally found crispy skin! I am believer now.
Adding the CampChef Sear Kit. This is from when I finished the install in Feb 2020. Been using it an average of maybe once every 2 weeks since. no problems and very happy.
Edit: I did replace the cast iron grate that came with the sear kit as it rusted out in a year. I've replaced it...
LOL, and yes, I am also in Shorts!
Feed Rate was 6.50% per the app. So I changed it to 3.0% as suggested. But, and just saying for argument sake, the feedrate has never been adjusted by me since I took delivery in Sept 2019. Never been a temp control issue before this. VERY WEIRD that this...
Thanks, for a couple of points of clarity though.
It was in the mid 60s/50s yesterday/last night, That is WARM climate?
Feed rate has never been adjusted by me since I bought it. Never has there been temp swings before.
I also was in bed since 10pm and hadn't peeked in it. Totally...
I started up my Bull around 16:00 yesterday and set it to 225, then around 01:30 this morning, my alarm notifications started going off and the actual temp was 245 and climbing. I get out of bed and go out and open the lid to let some heat out and everything settled down and normalized back...
Totally no apologies needed. This is sooooo not important, its just a.. I don't know how to describe it, other than a curious thing.
When you do your next cook, Get down to the 1 Min intervals and zoom around, see if you see what I am seeing.
Not sure that your hypothesis is repeatable on my end. If you look at the pictures I shared when using the 1 minute time duration to display on the graph, and the temp set to 225 you will see Stars when both the actual and the set temp are at 225 and no stars when both are at 225, as well as...
Yea, the app only works in portrait mode, and does not rotate. You are able to "Pinch/Zoom" the chart to see more or less of the time line.
As for the stars... in my posts above I am showing it at a 1 minute intervals when the temp was set for 225 Degrees. The Stars are randomly...
I wish I could confirm your analysis. For me, the graphing tool on the App (as well as the alarms) hasn't worked in some time, and I have given up trying to see. (iOS user).
I appreciate the feedback and no harm at all in stating the obvious. No food has been placed over the width of the drip pan, at least to the best of my knowledge, but I will keep an eye out.
Well folks I pulled the drip pan today to clean the drip pan and clear the ashes and discovered My new shield is warped just like my old one had. This shield never saw a temp setting greater than 350. 95% of the time it’s set to 225 or 250.
