    Stampede All-Weather Smoke Vents

The Fireblack I used was only about an inch wide, so I just put two strips side by side. Wider would have been better, but I used what I had...seems it will work fine ?

    Stampede All-Weather Smoke Vents

So I finished the install of the vents as well as adding the Fireblack gasket material. As far as the vents go, yes you "will" need some sort of sealer or gasket for these things to properly seal...the "bare fit" if you will, is sub par in my opinion, and will end up being lose fitting. I also...

    Stampede All-Weather Smoke Vents

I just purchased the vents for my 590 and plan to install them today. I'm going a little different route in sealing my vents, and plan to use some leftover Fireblack gasket I had laying around from sealing my smoker lid. The plan is to trim out an oversized oval shape with the gasket material...

    Stampede 590 Rain guards

    Stampede 590 Rain guards

I also have been waiting for the rain guards to purchase, but in the meantime, I had a piece of aluminum sheet metal laying around in the garage, and just cut a piece about 25'x6", and used that to cover over the vents while smoking on rainy days. I just slip one side into the hinge area to...

    Dual Butts

I gotta say, go with the boneless butt if you can. Much more tender, with more meat after pulling. You're also paying for the weight of the bone which typically is tossed in the trash.....

    Dual Butts

Is there any noticeable difference between a boneless and bone in butt ? I'm smoking two 6 pounders this weekend so decided to get one of each, curious if there will be any difference ? I know the boneless will be much easier to pull, but any other feedback I may notice ?

    Stampede RT-590 Smoker vents

Im more worried about when the smoker isn't in use since it sits on a patio that isn't covered. I do have a cover for the smoker, so for now I will make sure the cover stays on it when not in use. Thanks also for the info Padlin00

    Stampede RT-590 Smoker vents

Just purchased a new RT-590, set it up and went through the initial burn...no issues all went well, just waiting on my first smoked meal. My question during the purchase was finding that the optional smoker vents were not available, I assumed they were sold out as I saw some other accessories...
