Lately I've read quite a few post about searing plates, heat diverters etc.
For my Bull I simply added a very heavy duty set of stainless grates (3/8" thick or 9mm) & a little over 22lbs. per set .
They came from a worn out Frigidaire gas grill I decided not to repair anymore because the burners...
I feel exactly the same, they should make the parts readily available for purchase to confirmed RT owners It's not like we're asking for them to give the parts to us, a little loyalty goes a long way & it's a 2 way street.
I will REMEMBER their poor decision when it comes down to purchasing...
He claimed the firmware of the 700 wasn't compatible with the 3RPM auger & again I have to call BS on that excuse, especially since we know otherwise. I have full confidence in the fine folks on this forum who have purchased & tested the 3RPM auger, if they say it's working, I'm good. RT however...
I get that 100%, however, that doesn't excuse RT for refusing to sell the 3rpm auger to Bull owners that want to buy it for reaching faster high temps. That is my main dislike of the Bull, it takes way to long to reach 450 from start up. Not a good business practice & dang sure not a good show...
Just got off the phone with RT CS & was refused while trying to order the 3 RPM auger for my Bull. I read where they were cutting us off & called to hear it for myself, ie. the excuses being made by their staff. Everyone here knows we can buy a 3 rpm auger elsewhere. As much as I like the Bull...
Never over 450, wonder why? Mine will hit over 500 + using them although it creeps a little from 435 up but it gets there. Maybe play with your feed rate or even try to open the meat probe window until it gains heat, extra air small amounts can change things, even the smoke stack height. I'm in...
Agree 100% .
I keep the Lumberjack & Pit Boss pellets on hand, both competition blend & can't tell any difference in smoke color, taste or burn rate, & yes I have a pretty sensitive palate. Have tried MANY brands over the years, especially when I run across something I've never seen or used...
No offense & Thanks for reaching out but you must not have read all of he post ! The PID controller was the problem. Oh & by the way, just because the manual states 6.5 feed rate doesn't make it absolute. Mine came from the assembly line pre-set to 3.0 & so did the replacement part. I'm in a...
History is important along with trusting your gut feeling on how something is performing.
Was late getting my update done, but it ran fine after changing the PID controller. It only takes one glitch to throw things out of whack, so keep track & maybe you'll find a pattern if it keeps doing weird...
First cook with the new PID controller went perfect yesterday !
The fan & auger seemed to be cycling normally, It fired up & made a steady climb to 225 within 14 minutes for a huge rack of ribs.
Placed the ribs in the middle of grate, thick side towards smoke stack, lost 3 degrees with lid open...
