Thinking about doing some baked potatoes on the RT700, wondering if anyone has done them before? Any advice/hints/tips/tricks? Should be pretty straight forward.
If not, standby, I’ll let you know how they turn out.
Try hassleback potatoes. Slice the potato about 3/4 way through. Lay the potato between something to keep the knife from going all the way. I use two wooden spoons for a stop. Put butter, and seasonings or rub on, the put on smoker. Top off with parmesan or anything you'd like. I love them.

Best baked potato I have ever made.
The grill is just a convection oven so you could go with 425 degrees instead of 450 and the overall cook time might be a little shorter. https://www.splendidtable.org/recipes/best-baked-potatoes
I rub my potatoes up with olive oil and sea salt...throw them on the smoker for the last 3-4 hours when smoking a brisket, pork butt, etc. Brush occasionally with a combo of melted butter & olive oil at same time I spritz the meat....and they are friken amazing. I just check occasionally for doneness and if necessary just wrap in foil and throw in a cooler when I’m ready for em. Enjoy!
