Has anyone tried using Knotty Wood pellets in a smoke tube? I bought two bags about a year ago but never even opened them after reading the threads with unfavorable comments about clinkers and firepot issues. Thought about putting them in a smoke tube and was curious if anyone has tried that and if so, did they burn Ok and was the smoke profile any better than other pellet brands.

Circling back on this from a year ago. I don't use smoke tubes as much as I used to. Heck, I'm a year older and a tad lazier.

I still have 20 # of Knotty Wood plum I haven't tried. I've used the Knotty Wood almond a handful of times and have liked it except for some ash EVERYWHERE and I have had "clinkers" that took a flathead screwdriver to dislodge out of my fire pot. Now knowing the "price of admission" for these unique pellets, I will likely always have some Knotty Wood almond on hand for variety (when bought on sale with free shipping). I think it might be a nice aromatic smoke for seafood or poultry.
