Once you put the wood in and close the ‘doors’, the 4 outside walls are closed. The only open area are the two mesh sides that face inside toward the fire pot.

I think you will find the barrel diameter too small on the RT 340 at 16 inches and making it sit too high. The smoke daddy is for a 19.5 diameter barrel.
