Horsing around, I have seen where some other guys have made their own front shelf and they looked pretty good. So I thought I would dress up my 590 a little bit. It is a piece of popular wood 1 by 12 x 24“. I did a little bit of wood burning on it and coated it with 2 part casting epoxy. And I know not put any heat or raw food on it.

Nice job!

Very nicely done; looks great. I’m guessing that the “popular wood” you used was Poplar, right? ;)
