As a new owner of the rt-590, I getting ready for the burn in practices but wanted to seek advice about best practices.

I couldn't wait for the standard shelf to be in stock so followed some users advice to create my own shelf... I think it looks pretty nice. Also, I installed the gasket around the lid to keep my smoker clean. Is there any thing else that you might recommend before I jump into the world of smoking? Thanks Ahead!

I agree. The best way to learn and discover what you like is to use it. I initially planned on installing a gasket to keep my 590 clean, but I am liking that it looks like I am using it.

I like your shelf; that will be my next project.

Put pellets in hopper and the fire pot and let it burn it in!!!!!

I would recommend smoke tubes. To different sizes based on length of cooks.

I tried out the smoke tube. 6 inch for the chicken and 12 inch for the pull pork which definitely work. Thanks ...
