No smoke flavor?

Got a stampede this weekend and grilled some steaks. I got very little smoke and little smoke flavor. Cooked at 350. What am I doing wrong?

@BG1 I've found the higher the temp I cook the less smoke flavor you're going to get.

Really anything over 300 and the smoke flavor is not very strong if at all. So try smoking at a lower temp then cranking it up to finish.

A reverse sear makes amazing steaks. Smoke at 225-250 for an hour or two then remove the steaks. Crank up the Rec Tec to 500 and then put the steaks back on for a couple minutes each side and remove and let rest for a few minutes.

Amazing steaks!

Another solution would be to add an A-MAZE-N pellet tube smoker to help add additional smoke.

Thanks!!

Grilled chicken tonight and took that approach. Much better. I guess it's just a bit of trial and error.

I'll definitely try the reverse sear with next steaks.
