I was just gifted the Bull and am new to the pellet game. I have pressure from my family to make a dish for the 4th. Any suggestions or foolproof recipes? I was thinking shotgun shells, but my husband thinks that's too heavy with the pasta. Thank you in advance for engaging with my post.

Welcome & congratulations! Are you hosting or just bringing a dish somewhere else? How many do you need to make? Since it is your first time with this grill I'd go with ABTs or Moink balls. Unless you always make Shotgun shells - just on a different grill. I'd just be worried about the pasta being done.
Whatever you do - I'm sure it will be a hit. Good Luck!

Welcome aboard @ginnitav !

Welcome to the forum @ginnitav.
It would help if you let us know what experience you have with smoking/grilling. If a side dish is ok to bring smoked mac and cheese is always a hit When we bring it.

@SmokeOCD Thank you for taking the time to reply to my post and impart some wisdom. I will be attending a Fourth of July party and bringing a dish. There are usually about 20 people. I will for sure look into ABTs and Moink balls. Just looked up what the appreciation stands for ahaha the name for the ABTs alone would be a hit at the party. Thanks again.

@Waterboy thank you for taking the time to interact with my post. Much appreciated. I have no experience with a pellet grill and am limited on charcoal. I am a novice. I might have to look into a mac and cheese recipe and take the place of the current family member that brings their curdled mac. 🤭 Any recommendations on a recipe to follow?

Moink Balls are great, and rather easy
We used thawed-out "Kroger Brand Home Made" Meatballs
They're pre-cooked, so you only need to get the Bacon cooked to your liking

Bacon Sushi is always a hit:

We don't use the Prosciutto, and the Onions and Peppers are fresh chopped, and mixed into the Meat

And, Onion Bombs are amazing:

We don't use the Brown Sugar, Ketchup or Bread Crumbs in ours
Sometimes I'll add a 1" cube of Pepperjack Cheese to the middle of the Meatballs .... makes the Meat go farther, and it tastes great too

@DenStinett Thank you for taking the time to leave suggestions and their links. I love onions, and the onion bombs look delicious.

@Dr.Floyd, the goal is to make a pork butt one day, but at the sec is seems so intimidating. Thank you for the vote of confidence. Any recipe your recommend to follow?
Welcome! Don’t be afraid to make mistakes, thats how we all learned! I’ve made more bad brisket than I care to remember, Butts look intimidating but are easy enjoy your new toy!

Agree. Pork butt is very forgiving, brisket less so. One pork butt is also relativity inexpensive compared to one brisket, so you haven’t broken the bank if it isn’t great, but I expect it will be!
