Still experimenting with different prep styles. Today I seasoned them about 3 hours prior to putting them on.

3 racks, 1 with Frag Out Freedom Spice, 1 with Frag Out Purple Heart, and 1 with my old favorite Meat Church Honey Hog.

225 for 2 hours meat up, 300 for 30 mins meat down then finished 300 for 30 meat up. No wrapping. Spritzed with my favorite beer every 30 minutes (my son drank all the apple juice). Used Smoke Ring Competition blend pellets (Maple, Hickory, Cherry).

I could definitely tell the Honey Hog ribs, awesome as always. Freedom Spice was good, Purple Heart was 3rd. In-laws loved all three flavors and took what was leftover home with them. Man, I'm stuffed now! I was pretty happy with how they turned out.

They look good. Practice makes perfect. I don't turn mine and they usually develop a good mahogany bark. ??

I did my first rack of baby backs (only one - it was what was left at the store...) - but this is the best thing I have done so far.

I used Zack's Brisket Rub and did a 3-2-1 with honey, brown sugar and squeeze parkay in the foil step.

I will take them off after 30 mins on the last step as they were just a tad dry - not terrible, but they were good and tender.

I also did the spritzing during the first 3 hours with apple juice / apple cider vinegar.

They were delicious!

It will just get better - thinking on smoking a meatloaf this weekend.

I did notice one of my wheels has developed a flat spot - but I have smooth concrete and it is just an annoyance.

best

They look great. Nice color and bark. ??

Good looking ribs! I did my third meatloaf yesterday and it turned out great! I loosely followed this recipe adding some extra cheese. I went 225 for an hour and bumped it up to 325 to finish.

Here's a photo from my first, the subsequent two were pretty much identical.

Even the meatloaf has a smoke ring. Excellent. Who knew? ??

Good looking cooks!

Hi Why were the Honey Hogs ribs awesome compared to the 2 other ones?
Thanks Dan
