I smoked a butt today and I put it in my 590 at 200° for about the first 45 minutes or so with a smoke tube that I put some small green pecan sticks in and finished filling the tube up with Hickory pellets. I was trying to get a good bark, As you can see I think I got it! The green pecan gives the meat a really good flavor. We’ll have it tomorrow at a family get together.
