Rec Tec app issues

Same here. Tried uninstalling/reinstalling; even uninstall and creating new account. Nada.
 
Same here! Tried on both iPhone and iPad and stays on for about 2 seconds and then goes away! Just upgraded to 13.12
 
Yep... same issue here. This sucks! Have an overnight cook with 2 briskets tonight!?

Just to be the contrarian in the group, I’m using the latest version of the RECTEC app on an iPhone X and an iPad Pro, both with iOS/ iPadOS 13 and I’m not having any problems other than occasionally I‘ll get a brief message about not retrieving data.
 
Just another data point to add to the mix, and in case Rec Tec customer support prowls these excellent message boards. I'm using a iPhone X and 13.1.2 and the app works fine, but note I'm still on app v. 1.5.3. I never got alerted to upgrade to 1.5.4, yet when I search the App Store 1.5.4 is there for download. Odd, it is not even on my phone's iOS app pending update list. I suspect it is 1.5.4 that is the culprit, so I will sit tight for now and not force the update since I've got some important cooks coming up. I, too, get that brief message about retrieving data as it is "not in the right format" or something, but I've been getting that for months through several app versions. It (so far) just times out and the app goes on to work as I would expect.

Here's something else: I've been a Rec Tec app beta tester for almost a year (as a long time grill user, not as a software guy) and I never got the usual beta tester notification to download this latest 1.5.4 version to test ahead of the rest of the customer base. Odd happenings in the Rec Tec software world.... Good luck to those so afflicted, as "seenet" above said, losing connectivity now is like returning to the caveman days.

Hmm, another thought...my new iPhone 11 Pro comes next week and part of the auto sync/phone upgrade process is a new download of most apps from the App Store...I just might be joining you in the world of 1.5.4. hassles no matter what....
 
Having the same problems with mine. Running iOS13.1,2 on iPhone 11. Rec Tec software 1.5.4. App just crashes and never connect to grill. I've tried redownloading app, new account with different email, all to no avail.
 
Updated my IPhone last night, now the app crashes a second after opening it. I just bought the grill and the app was working fine until my phone was updated. My fist cook and already having issues ?
 
Same here. My splash screen shows for a moment then the app crashes.
 
Based on the comments in original post here and in the other thread on the same subject it appears the problem is likely with RT 1.5.4.

Today was the first chance I got to use my 590 in a week or so. The app worked fine; turned on from phone, set temp, charted, turned off. All worked as normal. My RT is at 1.5.3 and my 6s (go ahead, laugh at the old man with a 4 year old phone, but I'm not the one having a problem ;) ) with IOS 13.1.1. Glad there's discussion on this so I won't be doing the 1.5.4 update until word trickles out that the issues have been solved.

Same results here. iPhone 6 works fine, two iPads with new update both crash trying to load app.
 
So since i hadnt seen anyone called to ask when, i just did. They expect a fix by early next week.
 
Wow! Same issue with my iPhone X. I’ve been getting extremely frustrated with the Rec Tec app! It is though a little comforting that I’m not solo in this. Hopefully it gets fixed soon.
 
I have a new 590 and wanted to use the app. I have an LG G7 Android. I created an account, but when I try to log on, it says "logging in" . That's as far as it gets. I have tried 3 different email address, deleted and reinstalled the app 4 times, but can never complete the login to begin wifi setup. I called Rec Tec. They told me this is a new issue and that tech guy was off today. I will call tomorrow, but will try any suggestions. Thanks.
